THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR AMAZING AUDITIONS AND CALLBACKS. AS ALWAYS, THIS SHOW WAS SO DIFFICULT TO CAST.  ALL OF YOUR TALENT WAS AMAZING, AND WE ARE TRYING TO FIND WAYS TO INTEGRATE AS MANY PEOPLE IN THE SHOW IN THE COMPANY IN VERIOUS ROLES AND CAPACITIES, SO CHECK YOUR EMAILS FOR UPDATES. ALSO, IF YOU WERE CAST, PLEASE REPORT TO THE STAGE AT 3:35 ON TUESDAY  WITH A PENCIL AND A BINDER FOR YOUR CAST/ CREW READ. PLEASE NOTE: THE CURRENT SCRIPT IS CHANGING TO SUIT THE GENDER, CAST SIZE, AND DYNAMICS OF THE CAST. Tuesday , August 26 is individual auditions. Sign up for a timeslot via “signupgenius”

  • Prepare (memorize and block) 1 to 1.5 minute classical monologue

  • Fill out this audition packet and turn in audition packet upon arrival 

  • After the last day of auditions, check https://www.bapaco.org/upcomingcast  to see if you are called back for a second audition. Please note, if you are note “called back,” it does not mean you are not considered for a role. In fact, you may have already been casted purely from your audition. 

  • Callbacks are held on Thursday , August 28 from 3:30- 7:30

  • Check https://www.bapaco.org/upcomingcast  for the cast list. It will be posted that weekend and a read thru of the script will be held the following week with the cast. 

  • If a student is not cast in a production, there are many options for that student to be involved in the production itself. From sets to props, costumes to make-up, lighting, sound, and music, please understand that all facets of a production are of equal importance. Students are encouraged to explore the many facets of a theatrical production

  • Character breakdown

    Don Pedro ( M)—a Prince and a soldier, any adult age

    Leonata ( F)—Hero’s mother, older, governoresss of Messina

    Antonio( M)—Beatrice’s father, even older than Leonato, a gentleman of Messina

    Benedick(M)—a soldier, witty, swears he’ll never marry (until he falls in love)

    Beatrice (F)—an independent woman, witty, swears she’ll never marry (guess what happens), upper class

    Claudio (M)—a soldier in love with Hero

    Hero (F)- innocent young woman who falls in love with Claudio

    Margaret (F)an attendant to Hero, thinks herself witty and loose

    Ursula (F) an attendant to Hero

    Bianca ( F)an attendant to Hero

    Don John (M) -a soldier ( dishonerably discharged) , younger brother to Don Pedro, the villain

    Borachio (M)a follower of Don John, so also a bad guy, any age, his name means “drunkard” in Spanish

    Conrade (F) a follower of Don John, so also evil, classy cleptomaniac

    Dogberry ( M/ F) Constable in charge of the Watch, confuses words, thinks he’s important

    Verges ( M/F)Dogberry’s sidekick, a little slow, maybe smarter than Dogberry

    Sexton (Francis Seacoal) ( M/f) Groundskeeper of the cherch

    Messenger ( M/f) Messanger for the house of leonata

    3 Watchmen/women need to develop individual comic attributes who follow dogberry

    Balthasar ( M/f) a professional singer for the house of leonata

    Friar Francis (M) friar for the house of leonata

    Bernardo ( M) a young soldier
