Prepare (memorize and block) 16-32 bar cut of a musical theatre peice

There is a mandatory dance call from 3:30-4:40 ( in the yoga room) before single song auditions( in the black box)
After the last day of auditions, check https://www.bapaco.org/upcomingcast to see if you are called back for a second audition. Please note, if you are note “called back,” it does not mean you are not considered for a role. In fact, you may have already been casted purely from your audition.
Callbacks are held on Tuesday, Jan 6thfrom 3:30- 7:30

If a student is not cast in a production, there are many options for that student to be involved in the production itself. From sets to props, costumes to make-up, lighting, sound, and music, please understand that all facets of a production are of equal importance. Students are encouraged to explore the many facets of a theatrical production
Character Breakdown
Edward Bloom- 35-50 years old / Charming, personable, an optimist, sees our black and white world in multiple colors. Creates elaborate stories and always has a joke in him. The textbook definition of “the life of the party” Baritenor
Will Bloom- Edward’s son, realist, cynical, in his 20’s, resents edward Tenor
Young Sandra Bloom- edwards perception of his wife when she was young, 18-25 years old, mezzo . strong dancer/tapper.
Old Sandra Bloom- more mature than her younger self. The more realistic and less idealistic version than Edward’s perception, mezzo
Josephine: Will’s wife, a kind spirited woman who desires less tension between the family and happiness for her husband with closure and release, she is pregnant. Actor, mezzo
Karl: The giant that Edward travels with, Edward rekindles a friendship with him and is brave enough to face him when some are timid, he is misunderstood and loyal. Actor, Baritone
Amos Calloway:. Circus Master, gives Edward clues as to how to find his one true love. Actor, Baritenor, character singer.
Don Price: Childhood rival of Edward that is originally engaged to Sandra but Edward woos her. Actor, Baritenor, sings
Jenny Hill: Edwards first girlfriend who in the future, Edward maintains and buys a house for, while still married to Sandra.Mezzo
Zacky Price – (high school, college, and later, actor ages 20-45). Nerdy brother and shadow of Don Price. Baritone
The Witch: (adult female 20-40) one of Edward’s “fantastical” friends who lives by a swamp, commanding presence. Mezzo /needs belt/ storytelling performance
Dr. Bennett: Speaking, Very old, Bloom’s family doctor, has helped Edward through his cancer and became family to them- strong actor
Alabama Lambs: Young Sandra’s friends. Perform with Sandra at the circus. Strong singing - can hold harmonies and strong dance skills. ( Lamb 1 & 2) doubles as uso tappers
Ashton Mayor – adult (plays older). Typical small town good-guy mayor personality.- non singer
Fisherman- adult male, hometown redneck, singing and dancing,
Red Fang - male early 20s, Famous Sniper who Edward kills in WW2, fighting choreo
Girl in the Water/ Mermaid: featured ensemble; Edward saves her life with a kiss
Dancing Fire - There’s a big USO number with tap dance, and then there’s a ballet piece where the dancers represent fire and air
Young Will- Edwards son
Will’s son
